My Professional Background

Trauma • Neuroscience • Emotional Intelligence • Relationships

My work is grounded in a deep interest in trauma, human behaviour, neuroscience, emotional intelligence and the ways our experiences can shape the way we think, feel and relate to others.

Over the years, I have undertaken extensive training and professional development across a range of approaches, allowing me to develop an integrated, trauma-informed way of working with clients.

My specialist areas include trauma and PTSD, emotional abuse, coercive control, relationship difficulties, generational trauma, emotional regulation, attachment patterns, self-worth, boundaries and personal empowerment.

I am particularly passionate about helping women who have spent years in difficult or emotionally destructive relationships and are now ready to rebuild their identity, confidence and trust in themselves.

My Approach

I believe effective support begins with emotional safety, compassion and being genuinely heard.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work collaboratively with each client to understand their individual experiences, patterns and goals.

My professional interests and training include areas such as:

  • Trauma-informed practice
  • Neuroscience and neuroplasticity
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Emotional regulation and nervous-system awareness
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Emotional abuse and coercive control
  • Attachment and relationship patterns
  • Generational and childhood trauma
  • Boundaries and people-pleasing
  • Self-worth, confidence and identity
  • Trauma recovery and personal empowerment
  • EMDR-informed work and other trauma-focused approaches
  • Somatic and mind-body approaches

I also draw upon my understanding of how the brain and nervous system respond to prolonged stress and perceived threat, helping clients develop greater awareness of their emotional responses and practical strategies for moving forward.

Professional Experience & Perspective

My work has given me a particular understanding of the complex effects that trauma can have on relationships, confidence, identity and emotional wellbeing.

I also believe that professional knowledge and human understanding should work together. My own life experiences have deepened my compassion for people who have felt unheard, controlled, confused or disconnected from themselves.

I know that healing is not a straight line.

There can be progress, setbacks, uncertainty and moments of doubt. What matters is having the right support, understanding what is happening and gradually developing the tools and confidence to move forward.

Why I Do This Work

I believe that people can become disconnected from themselves when they spend too long in survival mode.

My aim is to help clients understand what happened, why they respond the way they do, and what they can begin to change.

For women starting again later in life, this can be particularly powerful.

You are not defined by your past.

You are not defined by what someone else did to you.

And it is never too late to rebuild.

Heal Trauma. Restore Safety. Reclaim Your Life.
