You know the type…
They walk into a room like they’ve just been personally delivered by the heavens. 👑
Head in the clouds.
Ego through the roof.
Self-awareness somewhere in another postcode. 😂
And then, when someone actually shows an interest in them:
“I can’t believe they want to go out with ME!”
Darling…
Have you ever considered that perhaps they have excellent taste? 😂
Before you start writing your own autobiography entitled “Why Everyone Wants Me”, perhaps step outside your little ego bubble and conduct a tiny reality check.
Ask yourself:
🤔 What do I actually bring to a relationship?
❤️ Do I have empathy?
🧠 Can I communicate?
😂 Can I laugh at myself?
💭 Do we share values and beliefs?
🎯 Do we have anything remotely interesting in common?
🫶 Can I actually consider another person’s feelings?
👫 Are we compatible?
🔥 Is there genuine chemistry?
And most importantly…
Do they actually want ME — or have I simply decided they should want me because, in my own head, I’m irresistible? 🤣
Because here’s the thing…
Being single doesn’t automatically mean you’re a catch.
Being attractive doesn’t automatically make you a good partner.
Having money doesn’t buy emotional intelligence.
Having confidence doesn’t mean everyone else has to agree with your opinion of yourself.
And being told you’re wonderful by people who are terrified of telling you otherwise…
isn’t exactly an independent market valuation. 😂
So if you ever find yourself thinking:
“I can’t believe THEY want ME!”
STOP.
Don’t immediately assume they’re desperate, deluded or punching above their weight.
Maybe — just maybe — they see qualities in you that you haven’t even noticed.
OR…
Maybe it’s time to ask yourself why you’re so convinced you’re the prize.
Because confidence is attractive.
Humility is attractive.
Kindness is attractive.
Empathy is attractive.
Self-awareness is VERY attractive.
But thinking you’re the best thing since sliced bread while behaving like a slightly warm sausage roll…
that’s a different sort of confidence altogether. 😂
So, my advice?
Get your head out of the clouds.
Take your ego off the pedestal.
Put the mirror down.
And GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ARSE. 🤣
Because nobody is asking you to audition for God’s Gift to Women/Men.
We’re just asking:
“Are you actually a nice person to be around?”
And THAT…
is where the real dating test begins. 😉
