Someone asked me this morning what my ex is doing now.
And for the first time in what feels like forever, I could honestly, peacefully say:
āI have no idea.ā
I donāt know where heās living.
I donāt know who his friends are.
I donāt know what heās doing.
And best of allāI donāt care.
As long as heās not harassing me? That chapter is sealed.
Because hereās the real truth:
My energy no longer lives in the past.
Itās not chasing closure, not wondering āwhat if,ā and not trying to fix what broke me.
š§ Neuroscience tells us that healing the brain after trauma means rewiring where we place our attention.
For so long, my brain was stuck in survival modeāhypervigilant, scanning for threats, clinging to chaos disguised as love.
But now?
My nervous system is learning calm.
My mind is learning presence.
My heart is learning to stay open only for the safe and sincere.
This summer has stretched me in ways I didnāt see coming.
Iāve had to do things I never imagined.
Iāve waded through emotional mud so thick it nearly swallowed me.
But guess what?
I survived.
More than thatāI grew.
Iāve felt the sting of silence from people I thought would show up.
And Iāve been held, helped, and healed by others I barely knewā
people whose kindness reminded me that genuine souls still exist.
š± Thatās the magic of life.
The ones who wear masks eventually slip.
The ones who walk with truth donāt need applause.
And to the ones who chose image over empathyā
the āperformative Christians,ā the āgood vibes onlyā crowd,
the ones who vanished when things got messyā
Donāt worry.
I saw it.
And I learned.
No anger. Just clarity.
š§ In the brain, betrayal activates the same region as physical pain.
But guess what else lives there?
Learning.
And Iām learning every single day.
So hereās to realness.
Hereās to boundaries without guilt.
Hereās to being surrounded by people who mean what they say and show up when it matters.
Hereās to Ellie, my beautiful companion, my four-legged soul healer. š¾
Hereās to someone special who reminds me what healthy feels like.
Hereās to my family, my focus, and the road ahead.
And most of allā
Hereās to the freedom of not knowing⦠and not needing to.
Because peace lives here now.
And I have no intention of giving it away.
