Everyone Comes Into Your Life for a Reason… I’m Just Still Waiting for the Memo on the Last 32 Years

Apparently, everyone who walks into your life has a purpose.

A teacher.
A lesson.
A blessing.
A catalyst for growth.

Lovely theory.

Very neat.

Very spiritual.

Now someone please explain the last 32 years, because I seem to have missed the PowerPoint presentation.

For three decades I apparently completed an advanced course in:

  • patience
  • endurance
  • emotional flexibility
  • and the fine art of smiling while internally questioning everything

No certificate yet. Still waiting in the post.

They say “people come into your life for a reason.”

Yes. I’ve met a few reasons.
Some were brief.
Some were confusing.
Some stayed long enough to rearrange the furniture in my emotional world and then quietly left the keys on the table like nothing happened.

And now I’m here, allegedly “evolving.”

Evolving into what exactly?
A stronger person?
A wiser person?
Or just someone who can spot a red flag in a dimly lit room from 200 metres away?

Hard to say.

But I do know this: if the universe is running a curriculum, I would very much like a syllabus, because so far it feels like I’ve been attending a class called “Advanced Chaos with Occasional Plot Twists.”

And yet, strangely, here I am.

Still standing.
Still laughing.
Still slightly suspicious of anyone who says, “trust the process.”

Because if this is a process, I’d like to know:

  • when the exam is
  • whether I passed
  • and if there’s a refund policy for emotional tuition fees

But maybe that’s the point.

Maybe the “reason” isn’t always clear in real time.
Maybe it only makes sense in hindsight.
Or maybe… some people are just passing through like badly written plot devices and we’re the ones left trying to find meaning in their script.

Either way, I’ve decided something important:

If life insists on sending me lessons, I reserve the right to at least request better characters, fewer cliffhangers, and a bit more emotional WiFi stability.

Until then, I’ll continue my studies.

Apparently I’m still enrolled.
