I’ve had a realisation that might shock anyone who knew me in the last 30 years:

Life is actually… quite simple.

I used to think every major decision required:

  • emotional turbulence
  • at least one existential crisis
  • a supporting cast of unnecessary drama
  • and a soundtrack of internal alarm bells

Now I’m sitting here doing things like:
selling a house ✔
buying a house ✔
divorce ✔
moving ✔
starting a business ✔

…and somehow none of it has required a meltdown, a dramatic exit, or a single raised emotional eyebrow.

It turns out you can just… decide things.

Calmly.

Without spreadsheets!!!

No arguing with the universe. No emotional fireworks. No “we need to talk” that lasts 6 hours and changes nothing except everyone’s blood pressure.

Just:
“Here are the options.”
“I choose this one.”
“Done.”

Honestly I feel slightly cheated. I thought adulthood came with more chaos. Turns out I was just accidentally playing the “hard mode: unnecessary drama expansion pack.”

Now life is giving:
✔ quiet decisions
✔ sensible timing
✔ shockingly low stress
✔ and the suspicious absence of chaos I used to think was normal

I keep waiting for something to explode emotionally and it just… doesn’t.

Apparently peace is real. Who knew.

Anyway, I’ll be over here rebuilding my life in “easy mode I didn’t know existed” and occasionally laughing at my former commitment to making everything feel like a psychological thriller.
