Some people hide behind religion while supporting behaviour that has nothing to do with compassion, honesty, kindness or integrity.
They speak about morality, yet excuse abuse.
They talk about forgiveness, yet expect victims to tolerate mistreatment.
They preach about marriage and commitment, yet encourage or excuse adultery when it suits them.
They quote scripture when it makes them look righteous, but conveniently ignore the parts about truth, accountability, compassion and treating others with dignity.
That isn’t faith.
That’s hypocrisy.
Religion should never be used as a weapon against someone who has been abused. And forgiveness should never mean allowing someone to continue hurting you.
You can have faith and still have boundaries.
You can forgive someone and still walk away.
You can refuse hatred without accepting abuse.
And you can recognise hypocrisy without abandoning your own values.
Because real morality isn’t about what you say you believe.
It’s about how you treat people when nobody is watching.
