Just because someone believes in God doesn’t mean they won’t cheat.

It doesn’t mean they will automatically be faithful, honest, kind or trustworthy.

People can go to church, pray, quote scripture, talk about morality and still lie to their partner.

They can present themselves as deeply religious while secretly having affairs.

They can talk about sin while hiding their own behaviour.

They can ask for forgiveness while continuing to do the very things they claim to regret.

Faith does not cancel free will.

And wearing a religious identity does not automatically make someone a good person.

Character is revealed in what you do when nobody is watching.

Faithfulness is a choice.

Honesty is a choice.

Integrity is a choice.

Respect is a choice.

You don’t prove your faith by telling everyone how religious you are.

You demonstrate your values by how you treat the people who trust you.

So never allow someone to use religion to convince you that you should ignore what your eyes, instincts and experience are telling you.

Look at the behaviour.

Because actions will always tell you more about a person’s character than the image they present to the world.
