The reality is, for most, there’s no reward—only risk.
Risk of not being believed.
Risk of being judged.
Risk of shame, humiliation, and having your life picked apart.
So when someone finds the courage to speak, it’s rarely for attention or gain.
It’s because staying silent has become even more unbearable.
Do false stories exist? Rarely—but yes.
And that’s exactly why we don’t switch off our thinking.
But we also don’t dismiss, minimise, or roll our eyes when someone opens their mouth about something this serious.
Because far more people stay silent than speak.
Far more people carry it alone than ever say a word.
So if someone tells you they “made it up”…
look deeper.
Look harder.
Ask why.
Because things like this don’t come out of nowhere.
And they don’t come without cost.
Listening properly could make all the difference.
