After the Truth

A structured space exploring the stages that follow disruption — when reality becomes clearer, and meaning begins to reorganise itself.

Denial

Where clarity is resisted, minimised, or delayed.
The early friction between perception and reality.

Intervention

Where external forces begin to disrupt the existing pattern.
Family, systems, or events that shift the trajectory — sometimes supportively, sometimes painfully, sometimes both.

Breakdown

Where the structure can no longer hold.
Emotional, relational, or psychological rupture that makes continuation in the same form impossible.

Truth

Where distortion falls away.
Not always sudden — sometimes gradual — but ultimately undeniable.

Rebuilding

Where integration begins.
Reconstructing identity, stability, and meaning from what has been revealed.

Closing Reflection

Gratitude for the course of events.
Gratitude for the intervention of his family (albeit hostile).

Gratitude to the professionals who stood in the gap —
my doctor in France,
my doctor here in Moraira,
the Gendarmes in Thiviers, France
the Guardia Civil in El Portet,
my psychologist in France,
my forensic psychologist in France,
the psychologist from the Centro Mujer, Denia
the psychologist in Denia, El Verger
my lawyers — a husband and wife team,
the lawyers at the Centro Mujer in Denia,
the translators at the Centro Mujer, Denia
the European Women of the Marina Alta,
the Guardian Angels,
the social workers in Benissa,
the social workers at La Senieta in Moraira.

Sometimes the ending is just the beginning.
