Happiness is the new trend in my home.
If you can’t be happy, grateful, and positive — please, don’t bother wasting my time.

That’s not cruelty; it’s clarity.
Life is short, and I have a lot of catching up to do — on joy, on peace, on the parts of myself I had to dim just to keep others comfortable.

From a neuroscience perspective, happiness isn’t luck — it’s neuroplasticity in action. Every time we choose gratitude, kindness, or laughter, our brain releases dopamine and serotonin, reinforcing neural pathways linked to wellbeing. Over time, the mind learns that positivity is not denial; it’s direction.

Psychologically, surrounding ourselves with chronic negativity drains the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for emotional regulation and decision-making. Emotional contagion is real — the moods and attitudes of those around us literally shape our brain chemistry.

So, this new “trend” isn’t about fake smiles or toxic positivity. It’s about protecting the nervous system from chaos, drama, and the weight of other people’s unresolved storms. It’s choosing an emotional environment that supports growth rather than guilt.

In my home, happiness means accountability, gratitude, laughter, and peace.
It’s a space where love feels safe, conversations are kind, and silence is healing.

And if that makes me selective, so be it.
Happiness is not exclusive — but it is intentional.
