The Truth Speaks Louder Than Lies

By Linda C J Turner, Therapist & Advocate

For a long time, I questioned myself.
I second-guessed my instincts.
I even believed the lies that were being told — not just to others, but to me.

But there comes a time when the mask slips. When evidence outweighs manipulation. When your own clarity returns.

And when that moment comes, truth speaks louder — and longer — than any lie ever could.

Let me be clear:

💔 He claimed he was dying —
While playing tennis 7 days a week2 hours a day, without missing a beat.

👶 He claimed I abandoned him while he was ‘dying’ —
But what I actually did was fly to the UK to be with my grandson, who truly was dying.
We had agreed it was the right thing to do.
I was back in just two weeks.

💌 He claimed he still loved me right up until the court case —
Yet used his family as messengers to send hate mail, accusations, and attacks.

✋ He claimed I hit him while he was frail and dying —
But the entire incident was recorded on our outdoor webcam. The footage lives in the cloud — and the truth cannot be erased.

🛑 He claimed he never physically abused me —
But I have police and medical reports from France documenting the abuse.
He conveniently forgot about the doctors, the bruises, and the interventions.

👁️ He claimed there was no history of abuse —
Yet his own children witnessed it years ago, even as far back as Florida. The memory of that doesn’t fade just because he chooses to deny it.

I could go on.
But the truth is, I don’t need to.
Because the truth stands on its own.

I now understand that everything he said — all the stories, the twists, the performances — were never about love.
They were about control, manipulation, and the desperate attempt to rewrite history in his favor.

My mother always told me:

“Never lie, because one lie leads to another — and eventually, you’ll forget the lies you told.”

She was right.

When you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.
You don’t have to spin stories, orchestrate performances, or recruit others to fight your battles.

You simply stand in your truth.
And let the evidence, the timeline, the facts — and the people who know your heart — speak for themselves.

I’m proud to say I’ve kept my integrity.
I’ve never needed a performance, a smear campaign, or a fabricated story.

I have my truth.
And the truth always wins.
