Just because you’re feeling renewed, stronger, happier… NEVER forget this truth:
your abusers are not feeling what you feel.
When you rise, when you heal, when you reclaim your life —
some abusers become unpredictable, resentful, or destabilised.
That’s why healing and safety must walk side by side.
This isn’t fear.
This is strategy.
This is survivor intelligence.
This is how you protect your freedom.
🇪🇸 Stronger Safety Steps — Tailored for Spain
1. Stay in contact with Guardia Civil or Policía Nacional
If you have a denuncia, protective order (orden de protección), or active case, keep authorities updated with:
• travel plans
• changes of address
• any suspicious behaviour
• unwanted contact
• changes in phone number or routine
You can always call 062 (Guardia Civil) or 091 (Policía Nacional).
In emergencies: 112.
2. Keep your safety devices charged
• Personal alarms
• Security apps
• Panic alarms
• Phone trackers
• Battery packs for long days
Never let your devices run low “because everything feels calm now.”
Calm is wonderful — but preparedness is essential.
3. Keep your support network active
• Therapists
• Domestic-violence organisations
• Friends you trust
• Neighbours
• Family
• Your legal team
• Any volunteer or professional who knows your case
Let people know your routine.
Let people know when you travel.
Healing is easier when you’re not doing it alone.
4. Maintain your denuncias and legal protections
- If you have an orden de alejamiento, know your rights.
- If it was violated, report it immediately.
- If you have ongoing investigations, stay consistent with updates.
- Consider asking Guardia Civil for VioGén monitoring if applicable.
- Know that Spain takes gender-violence and domestic-abuse cases very seriously.

🧠 Neuroscience of This Phase
When you start feeling better, the nervous system relaxes.
Cortisol drops.
The amygdala softens.
The prefrontal cortex comes back online.
Your whole body says:
“Finally. Peace.”
But the brain is also vulnerable in this transition because relief can create a false sense of absolute safety.
That’s why awareness — not fear — matters.
🌪️ Be the calm in the eye of the storm
You don’t need panic.
You don’t need hypervigilance.
You simply need steady awareness.
Peace in your heart, strategy in your mind.
🌼 And still… enjoy your life.
Enjoy the mornings without fear.
Enjoy the silence without tension.
Enjoy laughter without guilt.
Enjoy your new freedom.
Because yes — you can be vigilant
AND joyful.
You can be smart
AND soft.
You can be protective
AND hopeful.
You can move forward
with grace, dignity, and safety.
This is your new chapter.
Live it fully, freely, wisely.
You earned every second of this peace.
