Support Through Breakups, Divorce & Domestic Abuse: You Are Not Alone

By Linda C J Turner, Therapist & Advocate

At Linda C J Turner Therapy, we understand that the path through heartbreak, separation, and recovery from abuse can feel overwhelming and lonely. Whether you are experiencing the emotional shock of a breakup, navigating the complex aftermath of a divorce, or finding the courage to leave a domestic abuse situation—you do not have to go through this alone.

Understanding the Journey

The end of a relationship can shake the foundation of your identity and stability. When that relationship has also involved emotional, psychological, or physical abuse, the impact can be even more profound. You may feel exhausted, confused, anxious, or stuck between wanting to leave and fearing the consequences of doing so. These are natural reactions to trauma and loss—and it’s okay to feel this way.

The important thing is this: you deserve safety, support, and healing. Our therapy services are here to walk beside you, no matter what stage of the journey you’re in.

Who We Support

  • Individuals leaving or thinking about leaving abusive relationships
  • People experiencing high-conflict or emotionally difficult divorces
  • Survivors who have left abuse but are struggling to rebuild their identity and confidence
  • Anyone coping with the grief, trauma, and confusion following a breakup or betrayal
  • Parents navigating co-parenting challenges post-abuse or separation
  • Men and women trying to understand gaslighting, narcissistic abuse, or patterns of emotional control

What We Offer

1. Safe, Compassionate Therapy

We create a safe, non-judgmental space where your voice will be heard, your experiences validated, and your story honoured. Together, we unpack the emotional weight of what you’ve endured and begin the journey toward healing, recovery, and empowerment.

2. Emotional Support & Trauma-Informed Care

We use neuroscience-informed therapy to help regulate your nervous system, rebuild your sense of self, and gently process the trauma of what has happened to you. Whether you are still in the relationship or have already left, our support is tailored to where you are now.

3. Crisis Planning and Leaving Safely

For those who feel trapped or scared to leave an abusive relationship, we can help you think through your options and plan your next steps with care. Leaving is often the most dangerous time, and no one should have to make those decisions without support.

4. Post-Abuse Recovery

Once the relationship ends, the healing begins—but it is not always easy. We work with you on rebuilding self-worth, learning to trust again, and processing feelings like anger, shame, grief, or guilt. Recovery is not just surviving—it’s rediscovering joy, autonomy, and peace.

5. Empowerment Coaching

Sometimes, after surviving emotional or narcissistic abuse, you need more than therapy. You need tools, boundaries, and a community. We offer 1:1 empowerment sessions and ongoing coaching to help you reclaim your life.

6. Group Support & Community

Knowing you’re not alone is powerful. We’re building a safe and supportive space for survivors and those going through heartbreak to connect, share, and heal together.

Why It Matters

Too many people stay in painful, unhealthy relationships because they feel isolated, financially dependent, or emotionally broken down. Others leave but are left dealing with the emotional aftermath—often in silence. We want to change that. No one should feel ashamed for asking for help, and no one should be alone in their healing.

You Are Worth Healing

You are not what happened to you. You are not broken. You are strong, even on days you feel anything but. And healing is not only possible—it’s your right.

If you or someone you love is struggling with the pain of a breakup, divorce, or domestic abuse, we are here for you. Reach out for a confidential chat, or book a session and take the first step toward your healing journey.

Because you matter. Your peace matters. Your future matters.
