8 Months Ago vs Now: A Healing Journey – Post 4
Trauma lives in the body.
And for years, mine was constantly in fight or flight.
I didn’t even realize it.
I thought it was normal to be anxious, tired, hypervigilant.
To jump at small noises.
To sleep with one eye open.
To feel like I was “too sensitive” or “too emotional.”
But I wasn’t broken.
I was traumatized.
Now, after months of trauma-informed therapy, rest, and reconnection:
đź’› I feel safe in my body.
đź’› I can pause without panic.
đź’› I am learning to feel instead of numb.
💛 My nervous system is finally healing — and with it, so am I.
This is what somatic safety looks like.
It’s not loud. It’s not dramatic.
It’s a quiet kind of peace that whispers: you’re safe now.
