Stingray

An IMSI Catcher, or Stingray, operates by mimicking a legitimate cell tower, tricking nearby mobile phones into connecting to it. Once a phone connects, the IMSI Catcher can capture information like the IMSI number, which is unique to each SIM card. This allows it to track the location of the device, intercept calls and text messages, and sometimes even collect additional data.

IMSI Catchers are often used by law enforcement agencies for surveillance purposes, but their use can raise privacy concerns because they can capture data from all phones in the vicinity, not just those of a specific target.
