🏠 Examples of Local / Regional Shelter Services

  • In Barcelona: SARA (Care, Recovery and Shelter Service) – provides reception, temporary shelter, support for women, children, minors and LGBTI persons who suffer gender-based violence. Ajuntament de Barcelona+1

📋 What You Need to Know

  • The process often involves calling 016 first, or going to your local Social Services (Servicios Sociales) or police (Policía / Guardia Civil) if in immediate danger. European Union of Women Marina Alta+1
  • It will be helpful to have any evidence of violations, threats, etc., and to notify the helpline so they can direct you appropriately to safe accommodation.
  • Ensure your personal safety: whenever you feel in immediate danger, call 112.
  • Keep a copy of your ID, any restraining orders, and relevant documentation if possible.
