The sighs when you hang decorations.
The complaints about “wasting money.”
The lectures when you try to enjoy a glass of wine.
The eye-rolls at Santa, at laughter, at the very idea of indulgence.
It’s like living with a shadow — one that drains the joy out of every tradition, every moment, every memory.
But Christmas with the right person?
✨ It’s magic. ✨
It’s laughter that fills the room.
It’s twinkling lights that actually mean something.
It’s sharing gifts and food and warmth without guilt, without restraint, without someone killing the moment.
I don’t want half-celebrations. I don’t want joy rationed out in crumbs. I don’t want to explain why it matters to me.
I want someone who gets it. Who embraces the sparkle, the tradition, the fun, the family. Someone who celebrates birthdays and Christmas like they’re gifts of life itself.
Because life is too short to spend December with someone who hates the very things that make it shine.
I will never settle for less than joy, laughter, and shared celebration again. 🎁❤️

I really like that you shared this. The thing is… Christmas isn’t a tradition, it’s a religious holiday. When you are with someone who shares your religion and religious customs life is better- period. The Holy Bible tells us the keys to our happiest life and includes being”equally yoked” to another believer. This prevents the heartache of being with someone you are dragging along with your old frivolous customs and puts you with someone who shares the reason for the season and loves your birthday because they love you. Be blessed! Hoping you have a peaceful and happy new year!
