Self-deception, the act of fooling oneself into believing falsehoods or distortions of reality, is a phenomenon as old as human consciousness itself. From minor everyday misperceptions to deeply ingrained delusions, the human mind has a remarkable capacity to construct narratives that deviate from objective truth.
