Spent three decades doing holidays solo… Easter? Alone. Weekends? Him off fishing or playing tennis like he’s training for Wimbledon 🎾🐟 and I’m basically in a long-term relationship with the kettle.
And I used to think… this is normal? 😂
Because let’s be honest—what exactly is the point of being married if you’re living like a single person with admin?
“Married” but booking your own plans.
“Together” but spending weekends like a spare part.
Romance? No. Just you, your thoughts, and a very committed cup of tea ☕😅
Fast forward to now…
Family around me. Noise. Laughter. People who actually want to spend time together (imagine that!). No competing with fishing rods or tennis matches for attention 🙃
And suddenly it hits you—
Ohhh… THIS is what life is supposed to feel like.
Connected. Included. Wanted.
Not waiting around for someone to pencil you in between hobbies.
Because love shouldn’t feel like:
“I’ll see you when I’m not busy.”
It should feel like:
“I want you there.”
So if you’re out here doing life alone in a relationship…
You’re not asking for too much.
You’re just asking the wrong person 🎤💅
