Over the past 18 months my life has been somewhat distracted by circumstances that required energy, resilience, and focus in other directions. Like many people navigating challenging periods, some of the things that once grounded me quietly slipped into the background.
Now it is time to return to balance.
Ten years ago, in France, I trained as a Reiki Master. At that time in my life Reiki was not simply a practice or an interest — it was a lifeline. It helped me find calm in the middle of chaos and strength during an extremely difficult period of my life. Reiki gave me a way to reconnect with myself when everything around me felt unstable.
During my abusive marriage, Reiki became a quiet refuge. It reminded me that even when life feels overwhelming, there is always a place within ourselves where peace still exists.
Over the past year and a half I have been navigating other challenges, and like many people, I allowed that practice to drift slightly to the side while I dealt with what life placed in front of me. But something important has shifted.
I no longer feel like someone who needs saving.
Instead, I feel like someone returning to themselves.
Reiki is not about escape or fixing what is broken. For me, it has always been about restoring balance — returning to a place of calm, clarity, and connection. It is about remembering that healing is not a single moment but an ongoing process of caring for our energy, our mind, and our spirit.
Coming back to Reiki now feels different. It is no longer about survival. It is about alignment. It is about nurturing the peaceful and grounded life that I have worked hard to build.
Sometimes life pulls us away from the things that nourish us most. But those practices are always waiting for us when we are ready to return.
For me, that return is happening now.
