Decision Flow: Responding to Reports About Suspicious Behaviour Around Minors

  1. Receive a report or notice
    • From a third party, first wife, or someone your ex knows
    • Could be formal (letter/email) or informal (verbal)
  2. Assess immediate risk
    • ☐ Are children in immediate danger?
      • Yes: Contact police / child protection immediately
      • No: Proceed to documentation
  3. Document facts
    • Record: who reported, when, where, what was observed
    • Include pattern or repetition if mentioned
    • Do not add assumptions, opinions, or interpretations
  4. Decide on involvement
    • Do not confront your ex
    • Do not try to intervene directly with children
    • Do not discuss publicly or with unrelated parties
  5. Report to authorities
    • Police (stalking or suspicious behaviour)
    • Child protection / Servicios Sociales
    • School safeguarding officer (if relevant)
  6. Maintain confidentiality
    • Share only with authorities or designated safeguarding staff
    • Keep copies secure for follow-up
  7. Follow-up
    • Authorities may request more information
    • Continue to document only facts and updates from authorities
