Resilience

For over three decades, I have lived with behaviour that is unpredictable, manipulative, and often damaging. Saying one thing and doing another, creating chaos, and leaving collateral damage in their wake became a daily reality. At first, it was exhausting and disorienting, but over time, I learned to adapt. I developed resourcefulness, patience, and resilience — skills I didn’t know I had until I was tested again and again. What might overwhelm others has become routine for me. I’ve learned to navigate conflict, protect myself, and maintain my sense of self even when circumstances feel out of control. Living through this has shaped me, not broken me, and it reminds me that survival isn’t just about enduring — it’s about learning, growing, and finding strength in adversity.
