A Safe Place

I’ve reclaimed my home.
I’ve reclaimed my space.
I’ve scrubbed, painted, disinfected — unmarked every corner that was once claimed by control.

And in that process, I’ve discovered something just as powerful: the love that heals is nothing like the control I’ve left behind.

The most transformative love doesn’t make your heart race like fireworks.
It doesn’t strut or dominate.
It doesn’t mark its territory.

The most transformative love makes your nervous system feel safe.
It steadies you when fear, grief, or anxiety flood your body.
It meets dysregulation with calm, presence, and trust.
It is steady. It is grounding.
It rewires your brain to rest, to breathe, to feel fully alive again.

Not because it’s easy.
Not because it’s convenient.
Not because it comes without challenge.

Because it’s always real.
Because it doesn’t dominate.
Because it doesn’t hurt.
Because it doesn’t demand silence or fear.

I am free now.
My home is mine.
My life is mine.
And the love I deserve is the one that heals, not controls.

Just me.
Just my dog.
Safe. Strong. Unstoppable.

Forever free.
And finally, truly, ready to receive love that belongs to me.
