It’s strange how families show their true colors when divorce enters the picture.
Suddenly, everyone has an opinion. They demand you “be reasonable,” “keep the peace,” or “give in” — not because it’s fair, but because it’s convenient for them.
They preach sacrifice when it’s your turn to suffer.
They call for compromise when it costs you.
They tell you to swallow injustice “for the good of the family.”
But let’s be honest: if the same thing happened to them or to their children, they wouldn’t be preaching peace.
They’d be demanding blood.
They’d flip their stance in an instant.
That’s the hypocrisy.
It’s easy to demand patience, forgiveness, or silence when it’s not their house, their money, their children, or their safety on the line.
Divorce doesn’t just reveal the cracks in a marriage — it reveals the cracks in families too.
Who stands with you, and who hides behind double standards.
And once you see that hypocrisy, you can never unsee it.
