Post 1: Why You Can’t Be a Therapist to Someone You Love

I wasn’t a therapist when I met him.
But I became one while trying to survive the relationship.
I thought if I studied trauma, I could help him. If I became more educated, I’d find the “right” words to reach him.
But love doesn’t heal what someone refuses to face.
And therapy can’t happen where abuse lives.

🤍 A core truth: You cannot be the healer and the loved one. When your heart is entangled, your clinical lens is clouded.

In this new series, I’ll share the hardest and most freeing lessons I’ve learned: how to love, let go, and never again become the rescuer in a relationship.
