8 Months Ago vs Now: A Healing Journey – Post 8
There’s a quiet kind of suffering that happens in abusive relationships.
You don’t always scream.
You don’t always run.
You tolerate.
You tolerate disrespect.
You tolerate blame.
You tolerate being gaslit, overlooked, and erased.
And you tell yourself it’s love.
You tell yourself it’s normal.
You tell yourself to hold on a little longer.
But one day, the mask cracks.
And you realize: this isn’t living.
Now, I no longer tolerate.
I live.
🌞 I wake up without dread.
🌸 I make choices from joy, not fear.
💃 I feel more alive in my own body than I have in decades.
There’s no longer a need to explain myself.
Because I know: I deserve a life I don’t have to escape from.
Tolerating is not love.
Living is.
